Coach/Coachee Agreements
- The coaching container is designed to 1) facilitate the creation/development of personal goals and to 2) develop, then carry out a strategy/plan for achieving those goals.
- It is ultimately the client’s responsibility to take action in their life. You’ve got this, and I will do all I can to have your back.
- The coaching program is tailored to the client’s needs and may involve the use of applied neurology tools, breathwork; somatic processing such as movement and sound; mindfulness and meditation practices, physical practices, dialogue, personal inquiry, and inner relating to parts of the psyche. If desired, ritual, magic, ancestor work, and accessing the client’s spiritual support will be included.
- We will center consent in all we do. The client is encouraged to express needs, boundaries, and desires honestly and freely.
- I strive to relate to the client and the work of transformation from a trauma-informed perspective. We will do our best to move at the speed of the nervous system’s capacity. This does not remove the possibility of activations arising in the container.
- I acknowledge the realities and influences of systems of oppression. I do personal work to acknowledge the impact of trauma and oppression on myself and within the coaching dynamic and maintain an accountability pod.
- If the coaching goals include pleasure, erotic, sexual, or sensual subject matter, the program plan will include relevant practices to support the goals of the client.
- If there is an amendment to the coaching agreement, a new contract will be drawn up.
- This agreement is legal and binding between the parties. The parties each represent that they consent to enter into this agreement from a place of sound judgment.
- The client understands we may have a dual relationship in which we maintain a friendship or professional connection outside of the coaching container. If this is the case, refer to the dual relationship contract.
- Coaching is not therapy and does not involve the diagnosis or treatment of mental health conditions as defined by the American Psychiatric Association.
Session Logistics
- The number of sessions is determined by the package purchased.
- Length of sessions: 75 minutes unless a different length is pre-arranged.
- Cadence of sessions: weekly or bimonthly as agreed upon.
- All sessions are conducted over Zoom, a digital video conference platform. Zoom requires stable internet connection and a computer or other hands-free, Zoom-enabled device. Because internet can be unpredictable, if needed, I will offer to call and conduct the session over the phone along with the Zoom video.
- All follow up communication will take place by email.
- The client must arrive within 10 minutes or the session will be forfeited without refund.
Between Session Communication
I will be available by email if the client has questions about session content or home play, wants to share a brief update, something to note is coming up, for accountability agreements, or feedback. If it seems like the topic would be better served during a session, I will suggest that. I will respond within 48 hours, M-F 8am to 5pm.
I will not typically send post-session notes, but I will send along and resources, tools, or practices discussed in the session.
Feedback and Honesty
The coach/client working relationship requires a willingness to be honest. In order to be effective, both parties agree to be direct and speak their needs. This should ultimately feel empowering and be rooted in mutual trust. If at any time it does not feel safe to communicate, the working relationship will be reevaluated.
After each session, you will have an opportunity to share feedback to improve the working relationship.
Making Mistakes and Harm
The coaching container is not an inherently safe space. It is safe-adjacent, and we must both work together through communication and self-responsibility to co-create safety and trust within the space.
While it is never the intention to do harm or make interpersonal mistakes, it can happen. If I recognize it as it is happening, I will name it, apologize, move on with the session, and take action to grow and do better.
If I do not recognize it at the moment, the client is encouraged to note it with any degree of context they would like to provide. I will acknowledge it, apologize, move on with the session, and take action to grow and do better.
Confidentiality
I agree not to publicly or privately share the details of the coaching relationship including name(s), contact information, and information shared in sessions. However, certain topics may be anonymously and hypothetically shared with other coaching professionals for educational or consultation purposes or in my educational content. In these instances, great care will be taken to change any identifiable details to protect the client’s confidentiality.
Cancellations, Lateness, and Refunds
I encourage you to use showing up as a personal practice including sensing your true capacity and knowing when to push and when to relinquish. For planning, I appreciate cancellations with at least 24 hours notice, but I understand when that is not possible.
If the client is going to be more than 10 minutes late, please reach out. I will leave the call if the client does not arrive within 10 minutes.
In the event that the coach or client cancels the coaching plan, the client will no longer be charged and be refunded the remaining package balance in full.
